Submissions

We welcome stories and poems about all kinds of subjects! Stories should be under 15 pages. Longer works of prose (under 50 pages) can be divided into 2 to 4 numbers, these are called serials. Poems have no word limit.

We accept photographs and artwork of all mediums (drawing, painting, digital, etc). One artwork or photo will be chosen for the cover!

In book reviews, please tell what the book is about and why you love it! Favorite book lists can be your top three, five, ten, or thirty favorite books! They don’t have to be in order.

Each St. Nicholas number will have a story, poem, art, and photography assignment with a specific theme. All entries submitted to the assignment will appear at the end of the number. The assignments are optional: your submissions do not have to fit the assignment!
